Fitcheck is a size recommendation platform that captures shoppers’ full body measurements via a short guided video taken on their phone or laptop while browsing clothes online. Retail partners can integrate Fitcheck as a plug and play widget or API and receive a merchant dashboard with conversion tracking, usage analytics, return rate insights and optional CO2 savings estimates. For shoppers Fitcheck reduces guesswork and provides a persistent sizing profile, tailored size suggestions and personalised style recommendations. The business model combines SaaS subscriptions for retailers, and premium consumer features including wardrobe management and size history. Fitcheck’s measurement algorithm focuses on accuracy, privacy first data handling, and compatibility with existing e-commerce stacks (Shopify, Magenta, custom CMS), supporting both no-code and developer integrations. Fitcheck’s vision is simple: make buying clothes online as reliable and confident as trying them on in a fitting room.
Sizing uncertainty is the core problem we want to fix. Roughly 70% of online apparel returns are caused by fit issues, and returns cost retailers about $200 billion worldwide each year. That gap drains margins, reduces conversion, forces retailers to process and restock huge volumes, and pushes smaller brands into unsustainable discounting or lost customers. Operationally it means higher logistics and labour costs. Strategically it removes trust and lifetime value. Environmentally it adds needless transport, packaging waste and emissions. The root cause is simple: static size charts and product photos don’t translate to diverse human bodies or brand specific cuts, and there’s no consistent way for shoppers to know how a garment will actually fit them. This is a solvable mismatch. If sizing were personal and accurate, a massive source of cost, friction and waste would be eliminated.
