This app aims at solving the social isolation and loneliness problem, combining AI and human-to-human interactions. We have an AI counsellor which you can call, trained based on clinical psychology as well as combining eastern wisdom. We have 6-month programs designed to help users make new close friends and nurture existing relationships. Here users learn how to uncover their core values, communicate better, form a real community, and also assess which friends are worth keeping. There’s also a feature called daily dopamine (educational arm of the app). Here we have reel of the day, long form video of the week, mental exercise and physical stimulus, all with the goal of combining eastern and western techniques to increase the emotional bandwidth of the user. As a mental health app, we ofcourse have mood tracking, sleep tracking, and happiness index (which is happiness tracking via text/audio and includes the option to upload a picture with every entry) App currently in beta testing, live on 2nd October. It has already been registered with the KvK (chamber of commerce) Please feel free to check us out here :) https://generationlotus.com/ https://www.instagram.com/generationlotus/

We're trying to solve social isolation and loneliness. People today feel more connected online than ever, yet many are lonelier than before. Students and young professionals often move cities, start new jobs, or lose touch with old friends. This makes it hard to build strong, close relationships. Based on the interviews I conducted with the potential users, I also found out that people are aware that they need mental health help but the solutions are too out of reach. Take therapy for example. Its either too expensive or the ones that are covered by insurance come with a lot of waiting time. The second issue was shame associated with it (especially for Eastern European and Asian countries), whereby if you want to get money from your parents to finance therapy, you first need to face a lot of shame from your family on this. Second major issue was friendship. I noticed during the interviews that people are increasingly finding it difficult to make new close friends, or how to get deeper in their friendships. This comes partly because of selecting wrong friends, not knowing how to communicate, social media showing them standards which make it difficult to appreciate real life situations. Interesting enough, for people in early 20s, I also found that someone can cancel you as a friend for your choice of songs! yet the person was afraid to leave the friend group as they wouldn't have any other friends. These issues led to the creation of the app, which started off as a gamified ed-tech app last year but after the interviews it evolved into what it is today!
