Solidale is an invitation-only platform where students and recent graduates in the Netherlands form small groups (5–50 people) to share a fixed percentage of their gross income (1–10%) for a chosen period (3–20 years). All members contribute, regardless of earnings, and the collected amounts are redistributed evenly each year, allowing everyone to share both risk and upside. The model creates a career safety net: members can take ambitious steps, launch a start-up, accept an unpaid internship, study abroad, knowing that part of their peers’ success will support them if their own income is lower. Pools are self-managed: each group sets its size, rate, duration, and an optional annual cap to prevent extreme payouts. A simple web app manages invitations, agreements, income reporting, and SEPA transfers, while ensuring GDPR compliance. Community features (events, mentoring, group chat) strengthen trust and opportunities beyond the money flow. By combining solidarity, transparency, and Dutch banking infrastructure, Solidale helps young professionals diversify career outcomes, build networks, and pursue bold goals without fear of failure, a modern, cooperative answer to financial uncertainty in early careers.

Problem Young people face a high level of uncertainty when starting their careers. Tuition loans, housing costs, and unpaid internships make it risky to choose bold paths such as entrepreneurship, further study, or work abroad. Traditional tools (student loans, grants, insurance) either add debt, have strict eligibility, or don’t protect against income volatility after graduation. As a result, many graduates play safe instead of pursuing high-impact opportunities. Solution Solidale enables students and recent graduates to share both risk and reward through invitation-only “pools.” Each group (5–50 members) agrees to contribute 1–10% of gross income for 3–20 years. Contributions are redistributed evenly every year, so those earning less still benefit from peers’ success. A simple web platform handles invitations, contracts, income reporting, and SEPA payouts, while community tools foster trust, mentoring, and collaboration. By blending Dutch cooperative values with transparent legal agreements and GDPR-compliant payment automation, Solidale gives young professionals a collective safety net and the courage to pursue ambitious, non-linear careers — reducing inequality of opportunity and strengthening networks across universities and early-career talent.
