My idea is to create a Ukrainian concept store and cafe in Rotterdam - a multifunctional space that combines sustainable retail, gastronomy, and culture. The venue will feature three areas: 1. Cafe with Ukrainian-inspired, sustainable food and drinks, 2. Fashion & accessories area highlighting Ukrainian designers committed to ethical production, 3. Books & lifestyle section offering literature, art, and unique cultural items. The space is designed as both a market entry hub for Ukrainian brands and a community space for cultural exchange. By blending commerce and culture, the concept becomes a scalable model that can be expanded to other European cities.

Problem: despite their rapid growth, Ukrainian lifestyle brands remain largely absent from Western European markets. Ukrainians abroad often lack access to authentic products from home, while Dutch consumers rarely encounter contemporary Ukrainian culture beyond traditional stereotypes. In addition, small and medium-sized Ukrainian businesses face significant barriers to internationalization and brand visibility. Solution: the Ukrainian concept store and cafe addresses these gaps by offering: - A sustainable platform for Ukrainian entrepreneurs to showcase their products. - An immersive cultural experience where food, fashion, and literature intersect. - A community-building space that brings together locals and the Ukrainian diaspora. This model promotes cultural innovation, inclusivity, and entrepreneurship, while supporting Ukrainian businesses in reaching global audiences.
