L'Oiseau Bleu is foundation that aims to help students within the special education system make a effective transition towards higher education (MBO/HBO/University). We do this through organizing a summer school for these students in which different speakers from all aspects of society come together to guide them through this transition. Due to the success of the first edition of this project L'Oiseau Bleu won the Erasmus Student Positive Societal Impact Award

Students in special education (specifically those in Mytyl or other specialized secondary schools) often face limited access to opportunities when transitioning to further education (MBO, HBO, or university) or the labor market. They frequently encounter: Lack of guidance and resources to explore educational options. Social and professional skill gaps that make independent study or work challenging. Limited networks connecting them to societal partners, universities, and employers. This can result in talented students not reaching their full potential, despite their abilities and ambitions. Our Solution L’Oiseau Bleu addresses this gap by providing a structured, supportive program to help students in this program students develop social, professional and acaademic skills through the workshops by these diverse societal experts. Therefore this program connects them with exploring their own potential and networking with diverse societal partners. By combining training, mentorship, and exposure, L’Oiseau Bleu ensures students in special education can take the next step in education or work with confidence, promoting equal opportunities and inclusion.
