Seniors are being left behind in the AI revolution, missing out on tools that could enhance their daily lives, while simultaneously being vulnerable to AI-generated scams and misinformation. The 65+ demographic is rapidly growing (20% of population by 2030) yet significantly underserved in AI education. Most AI tools assume tech-savvy users, leaving seniors frustrated and excluded from productivity gains. We bridge this gap with patience, empathy, and age-appropriate teaching methods, focusing on practical applications like healthcare management, family communication, and daily assistance, while prioritising safety training to help them identify and avoid AI-generated scams and misinformation. Teaching seniors how to effectively communicate with AI tools through simplified prompting techniques, bridging the digital divide in the AI era.

The Problem: The AI revolution is creating a dangerous digital divide that leaves 54 million seniors vulnerable and excluded. While AI tools like ChatGPT, voice assistants, and health management apps could dramatically improve their quality of life, older adults struggle with complex interfaces and unclear prompting methods. This exclusion isn’t just about missing convenience, its about seniors are becoming prime targets for AI-generated scams and deepfakes because they lack the knowledge to identify artificial content. Meanwhile, they’re missing out on AI assistance for medication management, family communication, financial planning, and daily tasks that could help them maintain independence longer. The existing tech education market either ignores seniors entirely or offers generic courses that don’t address their specific learning styles, physical limitations, or practical needs. Our Solution: We can bridge this gap through age-appropriate AI education that prioritizes safety, practical application, and dignified learning. We teach simplified prompting techniques through patient, hands-on workshops led by trained instructors who understand senior learning preferences. Our curriculum focuses on real-world applications, from using AI to manage health questions and detect scams to staying connected with family and organizing daily activities. We combine group learning with peer mentorship, pairing seniors with “AI ambassadors” from their own age group, and involve family members to create ongoing support systems. Rather than overwhelming seniors with technical jargon, we empower them with confidence and digital independence, ensuring they benefit from AI advancement instead of being left behind.
