Not everyone can afford a professional photographer, yet everyone deserves great pictures: for LinkedIn, dating apps, personal branding, or just memories. My idea is to open a self-service photo studio in Rotterdam, where anyone can create high-quality portraits at a fraction of the usual cost. The studio will use an easy, automated setup so even clients with no photography experience can achieve professional results. Lighting will be pre-configured with simple presets (e.g., “Portrait,” “Bright,” “Dramatic”) that can be changed at the push of a button. Backdrops and props will be ready-to-use, and mirrors on the wall behind the camera help clients see themselves before taking a shot. A wireless remote control lets them capture images without leaving their position. Clients will preview their photos instantly on a tablet. Finished photos can be downloaded immediately or upgraded with optional retouching services. This concept removes the need for technical knowledge: the equipment does the hard work, while clients focus on posing and creativity. It’s professional photography made simple.

More and more situations require good photos, and their lack may hinder one's opportunities. Nevertheless, hiring a photographer is costly, and many people don’t feel at ease posing in front of someone else. That leaves a gap: affordable, professional-looking photos that people can take in their own way. My solution is a self-service photo studio in Rotterdam. The space is set up so anyone can walk in and create high-quality portraits without technical knowledge. Lighting and backdrops are ready to use, the camera can be triggered with a remote, and a tablet shows the photos instantly. Clients stay in control of the process while still getting professional results.
