Carisma is a peer-to-peer car-sharing platform built to give users flexible access to cars, which in turn unlocks value for idle car owners. The basic idea behind Carisma is that a user can rent their desired car for short-term needs, for example, an SUV for a road trip, or a luxury car for a special occasion. The owner of the SUV or luxury car can list their vehicle on the platform, set the car's availability and pricing, and therefore earn passive income from their unused asset. Carisma will generate revenue through transaction commissions, additional add-ons, such as car delivery or deep cleanings, and the owner of a car will pay a one-time fixed fee to list their vehicle on the Carisma marketplace. Every rental will be fully insured, verified through ID and license checks, and supported by a ratings and review system similar to Uber, where the car owner can rate the renter and the renter can rate the owner, ensuring accountability. The app will have additional social features such as a messaging chat between the owner and the renter, and a posting feature where you can share your tips, experiences and feedback with different cars.

Carisma is reducing vehicle underutilization while also providing renters with access to a variety of cars for a short period of time, as it is unreasonable to buy a car for temporary usage. I came up with this idea when my family and I were going on a long holiday. I realised that our cars will be completely unused for the next 2 months. And at our holiday destination, we would have to rent a car. This idea merges traditional car renting services and underutilised car ownership into a scalable and frictionless marketplace. Carisma is essentially the Airbnb of cars. This is not just about renting cars... this is about being able to experience new cars as a renter, maximising your car's value as an owner, and making mobility flexible. Someone whose dream car is a Mercedes could experience that car for a few days when the owner of the Mercedes is travelling. This benefits both the owner and the renter.
