Throughout your menstruating life, disposable menstrual products create up to 90,000 kg of waste per person and amount to a total cost of €6000, with 1 out of 10 menstruators in the Netherlands unable to afford them. Additionally, they affect vaginal health by absorbing good bacteria. The reusable menstrual cup is a cost-effective and sustainable solution to these issues, producing only 30 grams of waste, costing €10 and lowering the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. Therefore, the menstrual cup is particularly valuable in emerging economies with limited access to single-use menstrual products, lower incomes and poor sanitation. Yet, in Western countries, the awkward process of rinsing and sterilising the cup is the biggest reason menstruators stick to single-use menstrual products.

Buzz - Power Bank Sharing

We all use our phones daily. Most of us need more than 1 charge a day. And when you need it most, there are no convenient ways to charge your phone. The challenge is to create a dense network of power bank renting stations around the Netherlands, so that everyone who has no battery would not panic but think about checking the Buzz app for the closest stations.

The conventional construction industry heavily relies on materials like concrete, which significantly contribute to global carbon emissions and environmental degradation. This traditional approach is deeply entrenched, with a marked resistance to adopting greener alternatives despite the urgent need to reduce the industry's carbon footprint. The persistence of these methods exacerbates the problem, as it not only hampers efforts to combat climate change but also overlooks the potential of sustainable materials that offer equivalent durability and cost-effectiveness. Our venture aims to challenge this status quo by demonstrating that eco-friendly construction materials can align with industry standards while significantly mitigating environmental impact.

Our focus lies in addressing two critical societal issues: glass recycling inefficiency and domestic violence. Inefficient glass recycling contributes to environmental degradation, while domestic violence inflicts harm on individuals and families. Glass is the least recycled material being heavy and therefore costly to recycle. Domestic abuse is an issue as 1 in 3 women are physically and/or sexually abused by their intimate partner throughout their lives. By tackling both, we aim to promote environmental sustainability and foster safer communities.

At the moment thousands of companies take part in organized sports events. From local marathons to charity events to beach clean-ups. While they have motivation and goal to reduce the CO2 footprint and become more sustainable, participating at this events often has the opposite effect. On top of this, we also see that the global economy is also becoming less and less circular. Over 2023, only 7,2% of the materials produced globally were cycled back into the economy. This must change. We out to recover more.

AI Housing Search Bot

Our startup is tackling the acute problem of the housing crisis pervasive across major Western European cities, including Paris, Berlin, London, and urban centers in the Netherlands. This crisis is characterized by soaring rental prices, an overwhelming demand for rental properties, and the challenge of finding suitable housing quickly. As urban populations continue to swell, and the competition for limited housing intensifies, a significant portion of city dwellers are left facing financial strain, uncertainty, and limited options. Compounding this issue, existing housing search platforms lack the necessary personalization, often presenting options beyond reach due to high demand or specific criteria.
