UpSpud
We are creating biodegradable plant pots from locally recycled potato peels. Our plastic-free alternative eliminates the need for repotting, as the pots can be planted directly into the soil with the plant and naturally break down, enriching the soil with nutrients from the peels and promoting healthier growth. Unlike other biodegradable pots, ours use genuine local waste, reducing environmental impact and providing nutrients that support plant development. We are currently prototyping pots in a range of sizes, from 5 to 15 cm in diameter, with proportional heights between 6 and 18 cm. These dimensions cover the most commonly used sizes for seedlings, herbs, small houseplants, and young shrubs, suitable for both home gardening and professional growing.

Safelder
Safelder is a digital safety platform for the elderly, available as both a website and mobile app. It tackles two urgent issues: technology adoption and online fraud targeting seniors. Key Features: 1. Digital Learning Hub: simple, step-by-step courses on using gadgets (e.g., setting up WhatsApp, recognizing scams, managing online banking). 2. Community & Connection: safe chat rooms, interest-based groups, and AI-powered suggestions for suitable communities. Families can connect directly, with emergency contacts integrated. 3. Memory Vault: a personalized space to store important information (birthdays, contacts, notes, life stories) with interactive quizzes and games to support memory retention. 4. Fraud Protection: smart tools to detect suspicious calls or messages and alert users, reducing their risk of becoming scam victims. Impact: We empower seniors to use technology confidently, strengthen family bonds, and protect them from fraud while reducing the burden on families who often struggle to guide their parents.
Carisma
Carisma is a peer-to-peer car-sharing platform built to give users flexible access to cars, which in turn unlocks value for idle car owners. The basic idea behind Carisma is that a user can rent their desired car for short-term needs, for example, an SUV for a road trip, or a luxury car for a special occasion. The owner of the SUV or luxury car can list their vehicle on the platform, set the car's availability and pricing, and therefore earn passive income from their unused asset. Carisma will generate revenue through transaction commissions, additional add-ons, such as car delivery or deep cleanings, and the owner of a car will pay a one-time fixed fee to list their vehicle on the Carisma marketplace. Every rental will be fully insured, verified through ID and license checks, and supported by a ratings and review system similar to Uber, where the car owner can rate the renter and the renter can rate the owner, ensuring accountability. The app will have additional social features such as a messaging chat between the owner and the renter, and a posting feature where you can share your tips, experiences and feedback with different cars.
Algaenius
Our process produces 70–90% desalinated brackish water for industrial and agricultural use. These sectors, listed in the Dutch verdringingsreeks as first to face restrictions, are highly vulnerable to water shortages. By supplying reliable, year-round access to brackish water, Algaenius reduces pressure on scarce freshwater resources while enabling businesses to operate sustainably. The increasing prevalence of excess salt also presents a critical challenge and opportunity. Current technologies simply relocate salt, generating around three liters of brine for every liter of fresh water. Discharging this waste into rivers and oceans causes severe ecological damage. Algaenius addresses this by desalinating brine to safer levels and embedding salt directly into algae biomass. This creates a unique dual capability: salt capture and CO₂ sequestration. Our biomass can be verifiably sequestered, offering compliance opportunities within carbon markets like the EU ETS. Currently at TRL 4/5, our technology has already gained international recognition, winning awards such as the UN Gamechanger Challenge and the Dutch Junior Water Prize. Algaenius thus creates triple value: dependable water supply, ecological protection, and climate-positive impact.
OnBehalf - house viewings when you are busy
An app + website "On Behalf" that helps to do house viewings while being abroad or busy. Here is the scenario of the usual scenario: 1. Tenant publishes adveritsement: date, time, address and describes what he would like to check. Additionaly, tenanat can note what exactly he/she would like to know (for instance, smell or noise level). 2. Tenant puts a bounty 20 EUR to anyone who will complete this order (with pictures and review). 3. Someone who is free at that time responds to the order and it gets booked → taken down from online. 4. Throuw escrow system money gets sent from the Tenant bank account and stored safely before it gets redirected to viewer bank account. The app (OnBehalf) holds 10-15% fee from that sum. 5. After getting a report from the viewer the tenant closes the deal and the viewer gets the money. The target group for the tenants are expats, students and immigrants. From 18 to 30 years old. Monetization is in the precent of the bounty. Channels for reaching target audiences are social media, internet. The idea is similar to Gander Tours although OnBehalf allows user to set bounty fee as high as he/she wants.

JAW (Just Add Water) provides healthy, freeze-dried meals designed for long-haul truck drivers who spend days or weeks on the road. These meals are lightweight, nutritionally balanced, and ready in minutes; drivers simply add hot water. Each meal offers the right balance of calories, protein, and fiber to maintain energy and focus throughout long driving hours. The packaging is compact and insulated, with a clear lid for convenience and durability in transport settings. JAW operates primarily through B2B contracts with transport companies rather than individual sales. Companies can order customized meal plans and delivery schedules that ensure their drivers always have access to nutritious food, even when on tight routes. By integrating healthy eating into logistics operations, JAW helps companies improve driver wellbeing, reduce absenteeism, and lower long-term health costs.
Generation Lotus
This app aims at solving the social isolation and loneliness problem, combining AI and human-to-human interactions. We have an AI counsellor which you can call, trained based on clinical psychology as well as combining eastern wisdom. We have 6-month programs designed to help users make new close friends and nurture existing relationships. Here users learn how to uncover their core values, communicate better, form a real community, and also assess which friends are worth keeping. There’s also a feature called daily dopamine (educational arm of the app). Here we have reel of the day, long form video of the week, mental exercise and physical stimulus, all with the goal of combining eastern and western techniques to increase the emotional bandwidth of the user. As a mental health app, we ofcourse have mood tracking, sleep tracking, and happiness index (which is happiness tracking via text/audio and includes the option to upload a picture with every entry) App currently in beta testing, live on 2nd October.
